Community Outreach Mission and Vision

Mission

To improve the health of New Haven residents through engagement, collaborative transdisciplinary community-based research, and dissemination of findings.

Vision

To establish a meaningful partnership between members of the New Haven and Yale communities that translates scientific innovation into direct health gains for our community. To do so, we must: 

• Earn trust and respect through civil discourse and collaborative activities
• Explore new approaches to community-based research, training and advocacy
• Ensure that scientific rigor, community engagement, and impact are not mutually exclusive
• Engage established and emerging leaders in health and other community-based organizations
• Coordinate in new and sustainable ways by creating synergy from the many ongoing health-related endeavors in New Haven and at Yale
