Kristina Crothers, MD

Mentor

Amy Justice, MD

Project Description

Dr. Justice, her mentors, indicates that: "Dr. Crothers is conducting studies to compare the prevalence of COPD based on the gold standard of prospective spirometry vs. diagnostic codes and patient or provider report in HIV+ and HIV- patients. She also is contrasting the severity and management of COPD in HIV + and HIV- patients and to examine the pathophysiologic relationship between HIV infection and COPD. Dr. Crothers is well underway with her projects. She is utilizing the GCRC to assess patients. As can be seen from her list of publications, she has been extremely productive and I am confident that she will continue to perform in an outstanding manner. She plans to apply for a K-23 award in the coming year."
