Dr. Scahill is director of the NIMH-funded Research Unit on Pediatric Psychopharmacology (RUPP) at Yale and of several large-scale randomized clinical trials at the Yale Child Study Center. He is internationally recognized as an expert in the design and operation of clinical trials and serious disorders of childhood such as autism and Tourette syndrome. For this work, he directs two multi-site clinical trials in Tourette syndrome and two in autism. In addition, Dr. Scahill teaches in the master's and doctoral programs at the Yale School of Nursing and is a faculty member on the NIMH-funded multi-disciplinary training grant in the Child Study Center. Through these activities, Dr. Scahill has mentored 16 graduate students and nine postdoctoral fellows, several of whom have gone on to academic and research careers. Dr. Scahill is the named mentor for a pending K award for a young Yale faculty member and an F32 for a Yale post-doctoral fellow.
