To guarantee the strongest possible training in clinical and translational research, Yale has created a society of YCCI Faculty Mentors, which is chaired by Dr. Sherwin in his role as YCCI/CTSA Director.

Members of this group have been chosen based on the breadth, depth, and quality of their clinical and translational research, on their track records in mentoring young scientists, and on their shared commitment to developing an exciting intellectual environment for YCCI trainees. YCCI Faculty Mentors must be willing to participate actively in the training and nurturing of the students and junior faculty members identified as YCCI Clinical Scholars.

YCCI’s goal is to create new interdisciplinary connections among the faculty members who serve on mentoring committees. Each YCCI Career Oversight Committee Member serves for a two-year term, at the end of which his/her skills as a mentor will be evaluated to determine whether a continuing appointment is warranted.
